LOVE local RADIO, love Cruise Radio, in our community with people you know and see actively in our community every day.
Johnny, Jan and now Nikau are the owners who filled the void 17 years ago by returning local radio to South Waikato and the King Country. Our radio station has given many in the community a voice and the districts of South Waikato, Taupo, Otorohanga, Waitomo and Ruapehu identity.
From Te Kawa north of Otorohanga to the Awakino Gorge. Travel over the Hiwis from Te Mapara-eight mile junction all the way to Whakapapa Skifields. Or travel up the Pungas from Taumarunui on State Highway 41 to the sound of Cruise Radio King Country MASSIVE FM radio coverage. Now you know why farmers love listening us with no crackle or static in the tractor on the farm.
In South Waikato we are loud and proud broadcasting from Colsens Hill out to Kinlieth in the south and Putaruru in the north. Plus we play like you in Whakamaru and Mangakino with the only commercial FM frequency in some of the best hunting, tramping and watersports playground in South Waikato. We are so popular the film crew who made YOGI BEAR, the movie at Whakamaru listened to us while they were here.
Our radio station is focussed on local news and events and often we are the only media source in South Waikato and the King Country talking up the good local vibe that makes our community paradise.
Our announcers Johnny, Jan, Nikau, Todd and Cagney live in and know our community just like you.
